The first concert
took place in Zlin, the next in Bratislava and then a further in Prague.
Maybe there was also a concert in Brno. I was in Zlin and in Prague.. I
had a bad luck and could see only the second part of the Zlin concert 'cos
I was too late. Everywhere in TV and Radio they had spoken about Alphaville
are visiting Slovakia and Czech. Already three months before the event
they had started to sell tickets. And you could also win some. The cocnert
in Zlin was in a big sportshall. It was absolutely full and you couldn't
breath nearly. I was too late, so I had hard problems to see anything.
I had to step on some feets to get a better place.
But in Prag I was
right in front of the stage and saw everything fine.
There was no supportband.
From the actual album they played: SOUL MESSIAH, CONTROL, NEW HORIZONS,
MONKEY IN THE MOON, GUARDIAN ANGEL, FLAME, WHISHFUL THINKING and they added
also A VICTORY OF LOVE; BIG IN JAPAN and FOREVER YOUNG.
While they
played the last- mentioned I had the impression the roof could fall down
every second. Also absolutely brilliant was SOUNDS LIKE A MELODY. In my
opinion it's the best Remix. In the encore they played JET SET, JERUSALEM
(great) and DANCE WITH ME...and finally IF THE AUDIENCE IS LISTENING.
It's a pity, they
didn't play a song of the Prostitute- Album. And I would like to know if
they played a song from The Breathtaking Blue anywhen. I don't think so.
I can compare these
concerts with the concert in Dresden in 1996 'cos I was also there. I must
say it was shorter than in Dresden, I think. However everbody in the hall
was totally enthusiastic. They yelled without end.
A friend of mine,
who isn't a fan, came with me. He was a bit disappointed. He didn't like
that there was only a drummachine and he missed the bass-guitar. He was
more than one time at there concerts in Germany and he said here it wasn't
completely live. I was only one time at a concert in Germany (how mentioned
in Dresden) and I coul'd notice a difference. But he liked the accustic
drums they used now.
During the concert
Marian took photos of the musicians and later he threw it in the middle
of the audience.
What shall I say
now? I'm waiting for another concert. And I've heard after the concert
in Prague there was a small meeting in their hotel. I had again bad luck
and missed that. My friend maintains, Marian had nearly tears in his eyes.
He didn't thought there would be so many fans in Czech and so he promised
to came back for more concerts once in the future.
