Interview with Bernhard Lloyd
asked from Fanclub "Faithful and true"

The Dreamscapes Box contains alrady an instrumental version of the song "That's all". In the credits Ulli Holler is mentioned as co-writer. What a kind of connection is there between Max and Ulli Holler. Are they borthers or is it just a pseudonym?
It's the same person. Max has two names and he prefers Max.
So far you worked in various studios. Which one you liked most and why? Do you miss the old good Lunapark studio sometimes?
Of course the Lunapark studio was the one I likes most. There was everything we needed... and it was something like a home. Apart from that I think the Nucleus- Studio in Berlin is wonderful. I did the live- mixes of the Dreamscapes there. And the Metropolis in London is not bad, even if it's a bit large and impersonal.
Since Atlantic Popes is a virtual project you certainly plan no tour. How do you want to reach your audience? Do you believe that using just the Internet will be enough?
No we plan no tour. That's already said in the name.Besides also Max doesn't like it so much to stand on the stage. The future will reveal if we'll reach our audience. We're in a good spirit. Of course everything depends on the website. And next to it it depends on the music we make. The independence is extremely important for us. Our project is absolutely free of commercial influences of the record companies and managers ;-) who make life difficult sometimes. We prefer to do everything by ourselves... even if it's sometimes quite hard. We gladly put up with it.
Who's mainly interested in Atlantic Popes? Are it mainly Alphaville fans?
Well, we haven't asked everybody.. but I really think that many are Alphaville fans... but- and that's the nice thing of the net- also strangers find our website and think it's great.
What did Max Holler before he did Atlantic Popes together with you, respectively what does he besides that?
Max is... hmm...an artist of life.. he is a cartographer, cook..videoproducer (among others he did a video about  Alphaville's clubtour in Sweden... will be hopefully released in the future)... and most of all he's a friend.
Can you briefly introduce Max?
He should do it better by himself.
Can you imagine to do a common project (even if just for one song) with Max and Marian? What's to be said for or against it?
The idea is wonderful. We already though about something like that. If the right song is there we'll do it. There's absolutely nothing said against it.
I'm very curious to know if Bernhard would also use lyrics written by someone else, for example by my band "Avalone". It's my dream to write a song for Alphaville one day... but who haven't a dream like this.
Lyrics are always welcome! If we like them...and they inspire us we'll use them... no question!
What's your opinion about Dreamscapes Nr.9 ?
I think it's a great idea by Marian to put these snapshots monthly online. Very brave and forward- looking. And "Moonboy" is a hammer- song!
