The show began an hour later than it was announced: at 8 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. It was weird but everybody was waiting patiently. It seems that local population suffers from lack of cholesterol for reaction on such a mess and vitamins for normal brain activity. Audience behave very quite - Latvian mentality.
As it appeared later the reason for delay were some problems at Latvian customs. Three bands were announced: PRATA VETRA, EAST 17 and AV at 10:15 p.m. The band EXPLORE was on stage instead of EAST 17. They were three nervous twitching morons who were shouting something all the time during performance. After a while it became clear that musical equipment(according to gossips it was delivered for the show by some company from Moscow) is quite bad. The sound was very loud and distorted with noisy whistles and cracks.
After this crap organizators arranged a lottery with prizes from Pepsi: 5000 US$, 2 stereos and T-shirts. EAST 17 was announced again but they didn't appear on stage for some reasons. Organizators kept changing their plans and promises. After 20 minute break some people from the audience demanded a T-shirt and jeans from the guy who was announcing the bands. They succeeded... I don't know if it disgusting or funny but AV was on stage right after this...

Marian was wearing
T-shirt and dark green pants. Two keyboardists were wearing glasses. One
of them was wearing suit and looked very decently. As I understood the
drummer was the same guy whom you could see at 'Chart Attack'. They started
coldly with "Big in Japan" and " A victory of love". Anyway, that was enough
for one girl to lose conscience. What a pitty, she missed such a show!
An opinion of non AV fun: if you're not AV fun you become a die hard AV
fun right after their show! It's marvellous! My friends were astonished
by Marian who did his best during the show. As they wrote me he's like
a man who sees and feels the music. He's very sensitive to a melody and
it looks like he touches the images that exist in his mind while singing.
They were impressed and considered him very talanted man. After " A victory
of love" AV performed three songs nobody could identify. It might be from
"United" or "So long Celeste" but not from "Prostitute", " The Breathatking
Blue", "Forever Young" or "Afternoons in Utopia". They didn't perform "Wishful
Thinking" which is quite popular in Latvia and played by many radiostations.
One of the songs had slow beautiful melody that everybody liked. After
AV played "Dance with Me" audience appreciated them with wild cheers and
applause and it became clear to everybody that people came for AV only(Marian
looked happy). Despite shitty equipment AV sounded perfectly! They performed
"Forever Young" and quickly left the stage... After that audience became
insane for about five minutes and AV, wet and satisfied, appeared again!
Marian told 'Let's continue party' or something like this and... ENCORE:
"The Jet Set" and "Sounds Like a Melody"! Audience called them again emphatically
but they didn't appear. My friends and some other people realized the show
is over and left Skonto Hall while EAST 17 were on stage...
