After getting up, Alp and I went to the hotel about 10 o'clock. KP, Judith and Emrah were sitting in cafe and we greeted each other. Marian and the band were not there yet, probably sleeping. While KP and Alp were discussing to organise some other activities for that day, Sunday, I feeled so hungry and decided to have a breakfast myself as they had already had it. After the breakfast I was again with them and asked KP about how it was going. He said that was OK and added "When will you going back to Ankara?" Well, I said I would leave in Istanbul on Monday as I had to be in Ankara on Tuesday. But, I would be in Izmir on Wednesday for the other concert.. :-) Then, KP smiled and said "Good! Cos we have another show tonight!!!" I was totally in a shock... Another Alphaville concert in Istanbul! That was really great! Indeed, they were satisfied due to the number of people and their responsive attitude during the first concert and then decided to have another show before leaving Istanbul on Monday. The concert place was really one of the most beautiful/intellectual clubs of Istanbul, Kemanci Bar (means: violonist bar) having a capacity of about 600 people. Well, it was obviously a wonderful news before going to train station and getting a ticket to Ankara. Naturally, I told KP I would be there as well. :-) The musicians were coming one by one for the breakfast but Marian still was not there and I had to get the damn ticket. In case joining them for the sightseeing, it would be impossible to get the ticket so I decided to be with them during the soundcheck again about 6. pm. It was also a good time for visiting a friend from highschool. :-) After getting the ticket and visiting my friend I was in Kemanci Bar, about 7 o'clock. Andy, Phil and Eddy were installing the related equipments on the stage. The merchandising stuff were placed in the entrance of the place. After about half an hour, KP and the band came to the place and then checked the instruments. This time Marian didn't come with them. He would directly come to the show. The stage was a bit smaller than the previous one but was enough for the show. Then, Seyfi came together with some other friends. Obviously we were chatting about our trio... He was showing his file full of Alphaville documents, some CDs, etc. The time was about 11.30 and the club was becoming more and more full of young people. There was a famous cinema artist from Turkish cinema as well. About half an hour later, Marian appeared in the club together with the band and they placed at the back of the stage. Later, I went near him and asked "Are you ready for the show?" He said "OK" with his hand and smiled. After a few minutes we were all in front of the stage and waiting for them. The concert place was full and all the trying to reach near the stage. Then, the band came to the stage and began to playing the intro and Fools, and Marian then came. The audiance were so enthusiastic that Marian were singing all the songs in the same mood... Again he was wandering, dancing on the stage and was having fun. We were all having fun and singin together with him. But, I was in a trouble a bit. Cos, while watching Marian and the band, I was taking some photos for Alex with his camera, singing with Seyfi, trying to drink my beer and was taking some photos with my camera for myself all at the same time... ;-) The songlist was the same as with the previous one, and before starting to A s c e n s i o n D a y, Marian dedicated this song to the memory of Freddie Mercury! (Emma, Rui : Did you hear the same thing in the concerts you joined?) And, you should have been there while Marian was singing F o r e v e r Y o u n g! Actually, he was not singing it too much, as all the people were singing it for Marian!.. You should have seen the emotion on his sunny face at that moment. During the introduction of Euphoria, Marian came in to the place where we were and watched Dave's solo. Again, I could see it in his eyes how he feeled its emotion... After Forever Young, they all went to the back of the stage as if the show had finished. But, the audiance did not seem to be so... So they came back to the stage again. Dace suddenly started to play a melody. Well, I did remember this melody from somewhere... Yep! It was 'Run like hell' from Pink Floyd! I was at a loss and was not thinking that Marian would sing it. Well, of course he did not. It was probably Dave's idea to play the introduction of that beautiful track while Marian was introducing the musicians one by one. I congratulated Marian for his excellent performance on the stage, and then congratulated Martin, Robbie, Alex and Dave. All of them seemed to be satisfied with the show due to enthusiastic response of the auidiance... I saw Seyfi again after a couple of minutes and he was trying to come to the back of the stage. But, the fans (except for me ;-) had not been allowed to meet with them yet (and I helped him of course ;-). Then all the fans were together with Marian and the band; taking some photos and signatures. Well, of course, I doubled my Alphaville CD's too, the newer ones with the signature of Marian Gold!.. After all the fans went out, Alp told me that there was a party on the upstairs of Kemanci Bar. And, I was telling Marian the fact that I would leave in Istanbul on Monday and would come to Izmir concert on Wednesday, as I had to be in Ankara on Tuesday. Then, he said "OK! But, you're staying here now, right! Not leaving..." Well, it was Marian Gold telling me to stay with them during the party and I wasn't thinking to leave there... :-) So we had a very nice party on the upstairs of Kemanci Bar where there was another group playing somethings. We were really having fun and were drinking plenty of beers, etc. What the time was not so important for us after such a very succesful show! KP and Alp were also very happy due to that. So Alphaville were "Big in Turkey" and it was impossible for me to believe that Alphaville had lost their popularity in the world!.. Don't you think so? Time was, I don't kow but, about 5 o'clock or so when we leaved the party. And, I had only one or two hours left for sleeping in order to catch the train to Ankara... Coming next: Izmir Concert... Stay tuned :-)
