Fanclub meeting in Italy
...or to pootch, potch, pootchen

"Hallo, that`s me..Ilwa...we`re lost in Settimo!"
That were the first words of Uwe and Ilwa after 1300km without problems
from Walsleben (Germany) To Torino(Italy). And finally they couldn`t find
the street of Alex Bertaggia`s home. And she thought what a strange start
for our first international Alphaville fanclub meeting. Not everything
turns out as it should...
Oh what a luck! They`re not so far from
my home. Bertaggia took her bag. "Mam, prepare the pasta! We`re coming
soon!" Bertaggia went out to save the two leaders of the "faithful and
true" fanclub in Walsleben. (In the meanwhiles Montrucchio was working
at home and waiting for some news...)
It was easy to discover them because of
their label on the backside of their car.
After embracing and kisses and the expression
of our faces after we never met each other for two years, we reached Alex`home
and according to Drößler it was an eccelent lunch ( an italian
one). Of course we immediately drove to Montrucchio and the meeting was
complete.
It followed only a few days full of things
to do: to visit all the wonderful places of Torino (which every tourist
must have seen), to see and feel the italian daily life, their way of eatings
and their mentality and naturally to exchange expierences and feelings
about Alphaville and our fanclub work. Not easy to do all this in the short
time. And it was not easy also becausse of Montrucchio`s dog, Camilla.
She`s pretty but crazy and since Montrucchio had always to bring Camilla
with her, some trip or walking was a little bit hard...anyway our four
heroes didn`t give up and where able to get some comfort eating a plumcake...after
putting it in milk or white wine. Well, that`s the reason of the titel:
in Italian the verb "pucciare" means: to put your cake in some drink and
then eat it. So the english version (of course it couldn`t be a regular
verb) to pootch, potch, pootchen!!
And it was strange: the first days everybody
spoke a little bit in the own language, but with the days our english became
better so we spoke only in English. Montrucchio said it would be better
to meet Bertaggia no more for some weeks after our meeting `cos she feared
only to correspondend in English. Ilwa complettly lost her German- she
tried to write some postcards to Germany but not very successfully. Uwe
said if she don`t stop speaking English after their return he put her in
a paket and send her back to Italy.
During our holiday Bertaggia and Montrucchio
decided to close our office and opening it in September shortly before
the publishing of our italian fanzine. No, they don`t have an office in
the usual way, but they decided to give a nick-name to their fanclub so
everyone can remember of tehm. Tehy called theirself "Bertucchio"office
which is the connection of Bertaggia and Montrucchio together. And they
have tried to explain to their friends Ilwa and Uwe the meaning of that.
They thought it was really nice and great funny and they would be glad
to have a nickname for their fanclub,too. But a connection with Drößler
and Ilwas maiden name Laudan doesn`t sound so funny in German...so Bertaggia
and Montrucchio suggested F.A.T. -> faithfull and true!!
Like the Bertucchio Office also the F.A.T.
Office mostly open the doors in the late evening or on the weekend quite
similar to the Moon Office. Although we all are in holidays it was possible
to open the Bertucchio Office for some hours to create this article. We
were a good team!!! Maybe we are so creative because we got no money for
our work.
But of course our four heroes are always
Alphaville fans. So they cannot do without talking about the band even
during their holidays: most of all they have decided that Bertucchio and
F.A:T. Offices want to work together as much as possible. So that the two
fanclubs can exchange news and every kind of infos and that other meetings
like this are possible. But now this article must come to the end `cause
our four heroes have to enjoy the last days of their holidays: Montrucchio
must drive her car and cares for Camilla, Bertaggia must speak (for Montrucchio,
too), Ilwa must buy souvenirs and Uwe must take nice photos...like the
one above.
