On the 24^th of October 1998 AV played again in my hometown Dresden. What a joy for me! Although I had some doubts before. The event was titled as "Oldie Night 98" and next to AV played bands like Santa Esmeralda, Baccara and F.R. David. And unfortunately I didn't like them. But I tried to ignore that fact, for AV I will hold out their music, too. And so it became one of the best concerts with AV I ever had. Finally (after being fan for 14 years) I had the chance to speak Marian personally. But later more about that. At 8 p.m. sharp to the beginning of the event we were in the hall. But we knew AV are the highlight and wouldn't play before midnight. In the Foyer we had some drinks and a snack. I'm always so excited having an AV concert ahead of me that I can't eat. But fortunately my girlfriend, who accompanies me always, kept cool. We sat down and watched the other guests. We could hear from their conversations that the most came because of AV. We also met some known persons and had our fun. And so we haven't heard so much from the other bands. About 10 p.m. we saved our place in front of the stage, even if AV were announced only for half past 11 p.m. The time went by quite fast and as Baccara, the last band before AV, said Good-bye commotion came up. Many of the guests tried now to find a place near to the stage. Like always K.P. checked the stage and shared out some drinks. Then it starts. The mood of the audience was overwhelming. Everybody was involved and we noticed this great mood transferred to Marian and the other musicians. As first they played "Soul messiah". But I can't say the exactly sequence of all the songs, I was too excited and enthusiastic, special about Marian. . He wore black cloths, and I only can say: simply great! After two encores they said Good-bye. Me and my girlfriend stayed a while in the hall, just to have a lasting effect and also in the hope to see Marian again.. Suddenly K.P. came and I asked him for Marian. He told me, at the moment Marian gives an interview. Then my girlfriend nudged me and said "Look, there's Bernd".. And really, he just came together with the other musicians, went through the hall and up the stairs to the VIP area. As he closed the door, I turned my head and nearly my heart stood still. Marian came. He even shook the hands of two other girls (I must admit, I'm a little bit sad, that I was not one of these girls). I used the occasion to ask him for an autograph. I desired already a long time for such a personally autograph. And I asked him also for which paper he just gave the interview. And he said, he didn't know who they were. As everybody had his autograph finally, he just sat down to one of the speakers and talked with us. The most asked for "Dreamscapes" He answered everything so patiently. I had the impression he was quite tired from the concert and I must say that made him only more loveable and charming. I guess after 20 minutes he went together with K.P. also to the VIP area. We thought, okay that was it. But the night wasn't over. We left the hall back to the Foyer. There was also a staircase we went up. And so we also came to the VIP area. We were speechless. Marian talked with somebody else. We had a conservation with Bernd. He was also very likeable. He told us about his son, that he wishes he can become a football- star one day. Later we could speak with Marian again. AV finally said Good-bye about 3 a.m. It was also time for us to go home. We were really very happy and satisfied and as said at the beginning it was the best concert I ever experienced.
