This time we were very lucky because Uwes
brother Jens is living only 20 km away from the place of the concert. So
our overnight stay was saved. Jens also likes Alphaville and that’s why
he wanted to accompany us together with his son. We left Walsleben already
on the 3rd of July and stopped after the half distance at Uwes parents.
That was clever because there was much traffic and a lot of road works.
We needed 4 hours for just 200 km. We hadn’t to care about the weather
(it was quite changeable) because only Schwarzenberg was open air.
Punctually for the opening at 8 p.m. we
arrived at the Kulti and welcomed at first all the other fans. The Kulti
was a disco, where often bands play live. We were very happy that we had
no problems to come in with our photo- camera and also Jens with his video-
camera. There was still the soundcheck so the security said we should go
into the bar next. But the most of us stuck in front of the stage at the
Merchandising. Then we noticed the first time that the security was very
aggressive. They stopped the opening till the soundcheck was over. We got
to know that a new guitarist was on stage. Ralf and Bianka confirmed, David
had duties for another band and cannot be here that’s why. The new man
is Rob Harris and plays also very well.
Till to the start of the concerts we exchanged
our news, Marion was able to find the last items of the “Red Rose”, “Dance
with me” and “Universal Daddy” singles for sale. So we bought at once this
rare stuff. We cared for our places directly in front of the stage. In
the meanwhile about 800 people came in and it was very packed. All
the fans were together there and we liven things up. Uwe recorded the first
two songs with Jens camera , as suddenly the security snapped at him vicious.
Uwe must stop recording AT ONCE. We were very angry and needed some songs
to become calm again. Then we were scared to take photos, but after someone
else took photos and nothing happened we also did it.
The concert was great and also the mood
of the audience. Alphaville already played more encores as usual. We hadn’t
expected that because we knew there are two other concerts on the next
two days. Our surprise grew up as the organizer announced after the concert
the band will give autographs. They did something like that never before
so we were really curious. Finally only Alex, Rob and Martin came for giving
autographs and the place had no class. The musicians stood on a staircase.
We made our jokes about the whole thing. We said that maybe some reporters
manage to take a photo of that and write under that are Ricky, Bernd and
Marian. We said good-bye at 1 a.m., but we knew we would meet each other
already on the next day in Apolda. Before we slept Uwe and me talked till
4 in the morning with Jens and his family.
