The night was very short. only at 3 in
the morning we came into bed and always after Alphaville concerts we were
too excited to sleep long . already at 9.00 o'clock we sat on table for
breakfast. outside the most beautiful weather was. we said, that would
be not typical for a day, if we want to go on an Open-air concert . perhaps
it was only superstition, we feared, if at the moment the sun shines, would
it rains in the evening. We used the time till the departure to Dresden
in order to pack all our things in the bags and naturally to cook the lunch.
Short before 13.00 o'clock we said Goodbye to Uwes parents. As far as to
the outskirts of Dresden we came relative speedy, although about the half
distance from road works stock. I put out just now the Dresdener city map
to take a look to the route as the cars stops: jam! We left spontaneous
at the next outway the highway( just lying in front of us). Now we had
to drive cross through all Dresden and that, where just momentarily a meating
of christs in Dresden put all on the head We had fortune, no one of the
Jesusfriends jumped in front of our car, in order to convert us (such as
it was faring to Simone). We had even still time look out for placats Only
in the closer environment the school, where the event take place should
we saw some. It were also not the typical "see Alphaville live" signposts.
Our host Karin lives only a twosome metre from the place of the event away.
We were so direct at the source. There in Karin's appartment already Simone
and Gaby were assembles. We had at last times and rest in order to entertain
over Alphaville and things about the fanclub . In addition Ralf and Bianka
had a prepared kind poster, on that we fans wrote down our impressions
about the concerts. Uwe and I had to still affix one' signature. Naturally
we studied mindfully all article. On the party we wanted to give this poster
to Alphaville to say thank you. We got knowledge, that the Götzes
had already built the Merchandisingtable and in a hour (in order 18.00
o'clock) the band will come to make the Soundcheck.. We gone on the way.
Although it would been possible to walk,we took the automobiles. As far
as we did know, the party should be in the hotel, where the alphas had
checked in, and this was on the other end of the town. Uwe and I wanted
still something to eat and all thought there would be nothing to eat on
the schoolarea. So all were looking for food for us . After all we remained
hang by McDonalds. On the parking place at the school Andrea came to us.
On the schoolarea were many activities like a toyplace, workshops, icemens
and shows of the erobicgroup. The Merchandisingtable was very good placed.
Götzes had organize even a Pavilion . A page was closed with a awning,
Ot the other sides 3 tables stood. Robby, Martin,David,Alex and Bernd came
to the Soundcheck. We danced and sang and arranged quasi a first small
concert. Michaela, the girlfriend of the organizer Klaus Wünsch, perished
to said hello to Götzes. She had a small white dog, and gave him in
our care. This little one should engage us still more on this evening .
Ralf laughted: "Do you know , how the place for backstage looks like? The
band sits tight in Bernds car"! We noticed, that the sky gots dark but
the fact doesn't disturbed us at the moment. We talked mainly with the
a lot of present fans (Judith, Jana, Anke, Jens... even from Bratislava
were fans arrived) and we distributed our visitcards. Sudden in the far
away sky it began the lightnings. We moved the tables and bags together
in the Pavilion and got a place to stand under.
With another awning we closed the page
on what the wind blowed just in time, than it began to rains. The storm
was so violently, that the rain veiled all such as fog. Ralf, Uwe, Gaby
and other tried to hold the Pavilion thereby the gale let not fly away
it. Hailstones struck down and the poors dog quavered in front of trepidation,
particularly with every thunder . Gaby observed, such as engineer and the
technical helps tried to save the instruments, boxes and other Equipment
with plans. Michaela attempted to reach the band over the telephone, but
they were in a restaurant for dinner. with the time we stood nearly to
the knuckle in the rainwater. We were blue, because we were certain, thereby
the concert will chops down into the water and probably also our Fanparty.
But we haven't time enough be sad, we fixated, that the cardboard boxes,
in which the T-shirts and poster were, also already stood in the water
and became wet. We tried to save, what was possible to save. Without respect
to ourselves we put all up the tables. We were in anycase already wet and
besprinkles with dirt. It was raining a full hour . As it stopped it was
about 19.30 o'clock. We were astonished, because the people crept all from
its places gave them save and wanted in fact still look to the concerts.
Inventive fetched they took coffer, tables, chairs...,simple all , what
was suitable, in order to take place on it . The ground was complete softened.
If you was careless , you had easily sliped. It was our all surprise engineers
and all available forces started to dry the instruments and all cables
of the electric . With a hairdryer each plugging connection they had carefully
toweled. It was dangerous water and electricity together. That gives quickly
"grilled musicians". Ralf came with the glad message: "it seems to be,
as they would play". Naturally the concert could not begin punctual. The
start sould be 20.00 o'clock for "Days of Fate" and Alphaville at 21.00
o'clock. For ourselves it makes no difference, main thing they play generally
.The little one dog swams in big puddles and was now also not more white,
but black. He always still had fear and freezed, so he tried the either
or other times to jump on the lap of one of us, Each times it has fatale
effects for our clothes . (Incidentally thank you the request, I have got
clean my white jaket again.) We rebuild even the Merchandisingtable provisorily
and we sells also various things (naturally for lower prices because of
destroyed by water). At 22.00 o'clock"Days of Fate" started to play. We
were sunk into discussions. There was the thing , that it should give no
party. Bernd wanted drive at once back to Berlin and Marian was angry,
because his girlfriend Gaby called, she wouldn't come to Dresden , and
the Englishman started anyhow at 3.00 o'clock towards Great Brittan. We
have to say thank you to the talent for discussions of Bianka .She makes
it possible that they invited us to the party in the six-stars-hotel .
As Eddie prepared the technique, we gave him the Pavilion. We put the tables
and chairs together, in order to stand on it. Today we remained in the
Backround, because firstly we saw good of top from the table, and secondly
the water stood higher. in front at the stage.We made much fun , because
we were after all of that things in the best mood. Only the tables made
us worries. They was on the way to sink step by step deeper into the ground
. And then there was this lighter, what simple not more go out after "Forever
Young". It became during the song so thermal, that it was completly stewed.
The remains are to see in our Alphaville-museum. Our good mood seemed to
infect Marian also. He sang with his whole power and the encores were longer
as ever before. As the concert was over from our tables were only 15till
20 cm over the ground. And then we drove with Alphaville music toward to
the hotel.
