After a day at work, me and my husband Adrian, drop the baby of my parents house in Den Haag(Holland) and set off for our little AV-tour. We drive to Aachen and sty at a friends house - as it is too far to go in one day.

Saturday 14 december 1996

We leave Aachen about 11:30 and have a beautiful drive trough the mountains on the way to Bitterfeld. It is 19:00 when we arrive in Bitterfeld. 20:00 we arrive at Kulturpalast and are a bit surprised. A beautiful building in the middle of nowhere. We buy tickets and go inside. Seats?! We are on row 10. I am a bit disappointed. Ccan`t see very well. Why are there always tall people in front of me!? First there is a supportband, Racin Lane, which I`m not so bothered about. I want Alphaville! Now! Finally, there they are. Great. I don`t think much of this seats - so I start making my way to the front. That`s better. My husband left with the coats + bags. 15 Minutes later he joins me. At the end of the concert Marian starts to drag people (woman!) on the stage and I start to shake on my legs and move away a bit. Most stupid thing I`vve ever done in my life as Marian starts to snog all the girls. Sh*t!! After the concert we went to our pension (which looked more like a big army building - we were the only ones there as well)

Next morning - Sunday 15 December 1996

We set off to Vacha for the next concert. We were there quite early so we went to get something to eat and to some christmas-market. 18:00 we went to a cafe to ask for directions- the guy there said that we had to hurry because there were already more than a 1000 tickets sold! What a joke, we thought. When we got to the place "Vach-werk" there weree ques- the ones you see at "Take that"-concerts. My god. My toes were freezing and I got very frightened that we came all that way for nothing ( I did try toring before we left from Holland- but noone was there) Fortunately we got really in form. It did seem to go even quicker than the night before. After the concert we stayed a bit and had a chat with Uwe & Ilwa, KP and some other people. I really hate living so far away- but the traveling is worth it. I can`t wait for the next concert. Well, after that we had to go back to Aachen- in very thick fog. You could only see about 2 metres. Dead scary! We almost took a souvenier from Germany back home- one of the "Ausfahrt"-signs 3:00 in Aachen.

16 December: back to Holland. 18:00 arrived in Den Haag. Bronwyn - my daughter (1 1/2 years) didn`t want to know me anymore - I way absolutely shattered but I `d do it again straight away - for Alphaville.

Till next time!!! Angelique
